2020 has been the strangest and most uncertain of years.
Yet the natural rhythm of the growing cycle of our vines has continued, heedless of what has been happening to all of us. I am therefore delighted to report, now as we approach Christmas, that 2020 will be remembered as a vintage of excellent quality.
The wines accurately reflect a year that has been balanced climatically, with temperatures that were neither too hot or too cold, and with sufficient rainfall and a breezy climate that kept the vines well ventilated. As a result, the wines are juicy, fresh, complex, and well structured.
Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Barolo have the quality and the ideal balance of extract, acidity, and tannin to be able to support medium to lengthy maturation in both cask, tank and bottle. Dolcettto, our ‘vino da pronto beva’ that is always best enjoyed while young and fresh, has already found its equilibrium, with elegant aromas, a full flavour, and tannin that is fine and velvety.
