Today we completed the harvest of Barbera grapes. The rains of the recent period have not caused problems. The grapes stayed in healthy condition and the quality is very good - the level of sugar has reached 20 degrees BABO which corresponds with a potential alcohol level of around 13.5%.
Next week we will begin to harvest the Nebbiolo grapes which are also in excellent condition. Since the forecast is for good weather all this week, we are not going to rush this final harvest, as the lower temperatures of these days will contribute to the perfect maturation of the grapes. The quality of the finished wine will most certainly be improved with these final days of optimum climatic conditions.
